
Karen Robson
Karen Robson is a new appointment to the WALHN Board. Her expertise is in disability provision and much of her career to date has been in the Higher Education sector, establishing and managing disability provision for students and creating organisational strategies to improve access and equality of opportunity. For many years she was a Director of the National Association of Disability Practitioners, including a term as Vice Chair, supporting the sector to share best practice and enhance professional practice. More recently she has moved into the Third Sector and is currently the Wales Director for RNID, supporting those who are Deaf or have hearing loss.
Karen has a long interest in International Development and has undertaken a number of voluntary projects in Rwanda, working with survivors of the genocide. Projects included Mental Health provision, social justice, education and mentoring/career support for orphaned young people. She is keen to support the collaboration of healthcare professionals between Wales and Africa and to develop opportunities for healthcare equality and disability provision.
